The Arkansas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ARAOM) was formed in 1991 to bring together practitioners of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine throughout Arkansas to ensure high ethical and educational standards for the practice of Oriental Medicine.
ARAOM was instrumental in passing the Acupuncture and Related Techniques Practice Act of 1997. The Practice Act requires that practitioners in the State of Arkansas have at least a four-year Master’s Degree in Oriental Medicine and have successfully passed the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) examinations in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.
